Primeros Pasos thanks you for your time and interest!
Thank you so much for attending our tour! Please review the attached information as a follow up to our presentation. We’d like to be sure you are familiar with basic policies and next steps before applying. This information and the application link is only for parents who attended our "Imagine" presentation either via zoom or live. Please feel free to refer friends who may be interested to us, and we will connect them with a future presentation. Application Info: We have very few spaces remaining for the September 2023 - August 2024 school year. We are currently accepting applications for this year, as well as for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Our total capacity at the Noe campus is 40. We have 3 classroom groups: Salon Dos - 1 group of 12 Young Preschoolers ages 18 - 30 months Salon Tres - 1 group of 14 Preschool children aged 2 - 4 years Salon Quatro - 1 group of 14 Preschool / PreK children aged 3 - 5+ years not yet enrolled in Kindergarten Application Process: We will place any applicants for the 2023 - 24 school year as soon as received, space permitting. For the September 2024 - August 2025 school year, we are currently holding tours and accepting applications. We will provide admissions decisions by March 2024. We will take into account age mix, gender mix, socio and economic diversity in each classroom. Deposit and Tuition: For the 2023 - 24 academic year: At the time your family accepts our admissions offer, the next step is to remit your tuition deposit to hold your child's place (please do not remit this before the process is complete and all is set.) The amount of the tuition deposit is $2,400 for the 2023 - 24 school year. The deposit payment is preferred via Zelle to business@primerospasossf.com. You may also mail a check to Primeros Pasos at 18 Fairmount Street, San Francisco, CA 94131. This deposit is non-refundable. The balance of the total annual tuition is paid monthly, at the flat fee of $2,900 billed monthly in our parent communication portal, Brightwheel, starting in September 2023. Parents may pay for monthly full time tuition via Brightwheel via bank account or via credit card. Monthly tuition is due on the first of the month thereafter, and is not prorated for family vacations or other absences. Tuition is all inclusive including also morning and afternoon snacks and special resource classes provided by PP. In March 2024, we will request confirmation of children continuing the next academic year with us. Families will remit that following year's tuition deposit to hold their child's spot for the next school year. This process will confirm for us how many spaces we will have available in 2024 - 25. We will then advise our 2024 - 25 applicants of admissions decisions in March. Please note we typically increase monthly tuition approximately 5% annually, which goes primarily to fund teacher salary increases. We have limited, privately offered financial aid available. If your family would like to apply for financial aid, please email us. If your family has CalWorks, please email us your eligibility confirmation. Transitioning children into care: At Primeros Pasos we prefer to ease into the full day schedule with a transition visit followed by shorter days at first, ramping up to full days. Here are details about our process: We will first hold a parent-only orientation meeting at the school to review parent-only information such as logistics, what to bring to school, and the like. Teachers will also be present to meet you! Community is very important to PP and so we will have some activities for parents to start to get to know one another, too. We use a “storybook technique” to familiarize children before they start with us. We provide photos of our school, classrooms, and teachers with suggested talking points and ask parents to print this into a simple "storybook" to share with your child before their transition visit. We will then host a 60 - 90 minute transition visit for each classroom, where children to start to get to know their teachers and friends. Once school starts, children will attend partial days at first. We may stagger the schedule for these first few partial days, some in the morning and some in the afternoon. This will allow for even more individual attention as children explore their new school for the first time. We follow each child's individual cues to ramp up to full days. This process might take just a few days for an older Preschool / PreK student previously in group care. It generally takes approximately 5-7 school days for most toddlers / young preschoolers not previously in group care to ramp up to happily being in school for a full day. We have seen over the years how these techniques really help children adjust more comfortably and quickly! Please be aware of our slow ramp up process to plan your schedule accordingly. Reference Information: For families who move forward with enrollment, we request execution of our Primeros Pasos Agreement at the time of paying the enrollment deposit. We also ask all families to execute a SFDPH acknowledgment required by the City related to COVID-19. Here is our 2023 - 24 calendar. At enrollment time we distribute “parent homework” additional forms required by our Center and by the State to be completed prior to the first day of school. Application: If you choose to apply, here is the application link open for attendees of our tour. This link is for the Noe Valley campus, and is only for use by attendees of our tour. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email us. We look forward to receiving your application! |
